About Advanced Solar Photonics

Mission Statement
The mission of Advanced Solar Photonics is to make the cost per kilowatt of solar panels more affordable by lower manufacturing costs. ASP plans to accomplish this task through patented technology, experience and innovation in laser solutions for thin film and silicon solar panel processing.

Fonon Technology International
Founded in 1991, Fonon Technology International, Inc. (FTI) was started as an R&D company. With the aid of its talented engineers and scientists, the company quickly accumulated intellectual property and in turn was able to develop and manufacture a variety of cutting edge laser processing techniques and equipment. Based exclusively on cutting edge technology, FTI has developed the most renowned glass cutting method with the highest accuracy in today’s market; Zero Width Laser Cutting Technology™ (ZWLCT™). This process is utilized to split materials on the molecular level and reduce kerf width to zero. This technology became FTI’s core knowledge concept and has dominated the development of the company’s method, technology, market and equipment in the flat panel display industry and currently in the solar industry.

ZWLCT™ and Fiber Laser Material Processing Technology combined make possible the development of the most sophisticated laser material processing equipment ever created for use in the FPD, Semiconductor, Solar Panel and Aerospace industries. The accuracy, precision, resolution, dependability, accessibility and overall superiority of these technologies and products are proven to be consistent and repeatable throughout the years. 

FTI is the parent company of Laser Photonics, Advanced Solar Photonics and Fonon Display and Semiconductor Systems. Each company serves a different target market and has been able to develop the resources to be a strong competitor in their niche. FTI serves as the research and development lab for each of these companies, continually working toward improved technology and innovative ideas to help its companies grow and develop new products.
FTI has been working in the flat panel display, solar and semiconductor industries for over 10 years providing a proven solution to the solar industry for material processing. FTI has developed the capabilities for scribing, marking, edge isolation, cell sorting, cell inspection and general automation. In order to strengthen its position in the worldwide market, FTI has recently expanded its production site in Lake Mary, FL to encompass a 312,000 square foot facility with a dedicated 58,000 square foot application and research lab.

Advanced Solar Photonics
ASP was created in 2007 to raise capital for producing a turnkey solution to the solar industry utilizing proven patented technology. Having already sold a number of systems for use in the solar industry ASP is working toward improving and lowering the cost per kilowatt through cutting edge technology. Systems have already been sold and delivered for laser marking, scribing, and edge deletion in the solar industry. ASP has an advantage over its counterparts because of the longevity of its parent company, FTI and proven product technology coming from the flat panel display and semiconductor industries.
